Michelle Hyun Kim is an award-winning writer, editor, curator, researcher, and speaker whose work centers artists who create outside the borders of genre, language, and geography. Their reporting and criticism been published by The Guardian, GQ,&#38;nbsp;New York Magazine, Rolling Stone,&#38;nbsp;W Magazine,&#38;nbsp;NPR Music, Pitchfork, Teen Vogue, and others.Throughout their nine years as a reporter and critic, they have interviewed everyone from international pop stars—from members of BTS to Hikaru Utada—to indie and experimental music vanguards, gaining insight into the creative and emotional process behind works that have inspired new subgenres, subcultures, and emerging media trends. 
As a former staff writer at Pitchfork and editor at Them, Kim has covered everything from TikTok linguistics, queer iconography, chronic dissociation, viral dance challenge ownership, and the symbol of the cowboy.&#38;nbsp;

Born in South Korea, Kim is now based in Brooklyn, New York.
