Michelle Hyun Kim is a freelance writer and editor based in Brooklyn.
My writing on music and culture has been published by GQ, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, NPR Music, Teen Vogue, W Magazine, and other outlets.
Previously, I was an editor at Them and staff writer at Pitchfork. In 2022, I won an NLGJA Award for my long-form profile of Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner in Them. I’ve contributed to the agency Third Bridge Creative, where I researched and analyzed trends in music and digital culture.
I’m now a part-time copy editor at The Guardian US, but still open to freelance work at meeshkakim [at] gmail [dot] com.
